Brenda is a Registered Clinical Counsellor. She lives in Victoria, BC and sees her clients online.
Brenda has a rich background of professional experience and personal growth. She has worked in the public and private sector for over 30 years counselling individuals and families. She has led numerous workshops on parenting, wellness and stress management.Brenda's counselling work focusses on helping people who are going through life transitions, including loss, separation, midlife and retirement.
Since 2004 she has been leading workshops and counselling women in midlife transitions. These women report they receive significant transformation, discovering new awareness and the ability to take steps forward in life.
Brenda also works with people who are contemplating or planning their retirement, as well as people who have already retired. Retirement is a significant transition and deserves adequate insight, planning and support.
Brenda's warmth and ability to create a safe atmosphere enable her clients to move into the heart of their issues. She offers unconditional acceptance, deep insight and a gentle spirit. She helps her clients access their inner wisdom and discover their unique gifts and strengths. Her clients report they gain clarity, sense of purpose and direction.
Brenda uses a variety of approaches to suit the individual client. These include process work, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), communication skills, visualization, relaxation and solution-focussed counselling.

The times have changed in retirement land. As recently as a generation ago, retirement was quite scripted: people worked all their life—often at one job—retired at 65, got their pension and a gold watch. Then they were sent out to pasture.
