Practice Information
Choosing a counsellor can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re already carrying a lot. My goal is to create a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin making sense of what’s going on—without judgment or pressure.
I specialize in working with teens and young adults, while also supporting adults who are navigating life’s challenges. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, ADHD, OCD, stress, low mood, school pressures, relationships, family changes, grief, or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together to understand what you’re experiencing and find practical ways to move forward.
Many young people tell me they appreciate that therapy doesn’t feel like an interrogation or a lecture. I aim to build a genuine connection first, because meaningful change happens when you feel safe, understood, and respected. You don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to counselling.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I draw from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, tailoring sessions to your unique strengths, goals, and personality. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we’ll look at what’s getting in the way of the life you want to live and build skills that create lasting change.
What makes my practice different is the flexibility to meet clients in ways that often feel more natural than sitting across from a desk.
I offer:
- Comfortable in-person counselling in Brentwood Bay
- Walk-and-talk counselling in local parks and nature
- A relaxed, welcoming environment designed to reduce the pressure that therapy can sometimes feel like
For many teens and young adults, walking side-by-side outdoors can make difficult conversations feel easier and more comfortable. Others prefer the quiet and privacy of my counselling office. Together, we’ll find the setting that works best for you.
Parents often reach out because they can see their teen is struggling but aren’t sure how to help. I understand how difficult it can be to watch someone you care about withdraw, become overwhelmed, or lose confidence. My goal is to build trust with your teen while keeping parents appropriately involved so everyone feels supported throughout the counselling process.
Whether this is your first experience with counselling or you’ve tried therapy before, you don’t have to face things alone. I strive to provide a calm, supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, gain new perspectives, develop practical tools, and move toward a life that feels more manageable and meaningful.
I believe counselling should feel like a conversation with someone who genuinely cares about helping you succeed—not just another appointment on your calendar. My hope is that you’ll leave each session feeling heard, understood, and better equipped to handle whatever comes next.
