Tara Chotem is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and a Certified Group Therapist. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Concordia University, Montreal (1980) and her M.A. in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology, Chicago (1988). For 25 years she has worked with individuals, couples and groups in the mental health and addiction fields.

Her experience includes working as a counsellor and psychometrician in substance abuse and mental health clinics in Montreal. After moving to Vancouver in 1988, she worked in a group practice, with specialized training in the treatment of adult children of alcoholics, childhood trauma in adults, and offering specialized group therapy programs. For the last 16 years, she has worked exclusively in her own private practice in West Vancouver where she provides individual psychotherapy, group therapy and marriage counselling.

Tara has training in both long-term (psychodynamic) and short-term (Adlerian) therapy and has experience working with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, childhood trauma, addictions, relationship, intimacy and self-esteem issues.
