Jeffrey Fisher, the developer of CounsellingBC.com, has been a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#0609) for almost 17 years. In addition to his private practice in Yaletown, where he works primarily with individuals, he is the counsellor for the Occupational Rehabilitation program at Columbia Rehabilitation Centre.

Jeffrey utilizes a wide range of approaches to address pain, stress and anxiety. In addition to his training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural approaches, he has a certificate from the two-year practitioner training program at Pacific Coast Family Institute. He also has advanced training in EMDR, including the Strategic Developmental Model™, developed by Maureen Kitchur.

Jeffrey utilizes his knowledge and skills in the above approaches to help individuals and couples move through healing of recent and long term life challenges. He believes that it is important to take into consideration the complex nature of those with whom he works and to show clients how to utilize the substantial resources that they already have at their disposal.

As a result of his initial interest in Mindfulness Stress Reduction approaches more than 16 years ago, he has attended numerous silent retreats in Vipassana meditation and has developed a deep sense of the the value of mindfulness practices for himself and for others.
