Practice information:
Do you often find yourself overthinking, battling a harsh inner critic, or feeling emotionally overwhelmed or disconnected? Many of my clients describe themselves as "overthinkers" and feel frustrated with challenges that, despite being understood rationally, remain difficult to overcome. These experiences often signal deeper emotions that have not felt safe to be with due to past experiences. My approach focuses on uncovering and working through these underlying emotions, helping you move towards a more relaxed, fulfilling, and connected life.
I offer individual therapy services in British Columbia with a person-centred, trauma-informed approach. My practice draws largely from Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)—a relational, experiential, and emotion-focused treatment model. Additionally, I have training in various other therapeutic approaches, including Narrative Therapy. I work collaboratively with clients to ensure that our sessions are tailored to meet their unique needs and goals.
I believe each person is the expert in their own life and inherently possesses the resources and knowledge necessary to guide the therapeutic process, make changes, and move toward their preferred ways of living. I’m here to support you in this process. I have a reputation for being non-judgmental and gentle, yet also direct in my approach, which fosters the safety and openness necessary to collaboratively unpack and find relief from the challenges of life. This often involves building awareness of old emotional patterns and working together to develop and experience new, preferred patterns in session.
With a decade of experience working in the areas of mental health and addiction, I have gained extensive experience supporting people experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress (work, school), relationships, identity, anger, motivation, self-esteem, substance use and process addictions (i.e., pornography, gaming), and psychosis. Beyond my clinical work, I am a PhD student at UBC, researching addiction help-seeking experiences among racialized populations. I look forward to connecting and exploring how we can work together to meet your goals.
