Dr. Tisha Gangopadhyay is a Registered Psychologist who sees clients at her office in Vancouver (Kitsilano/Point Grey). Through a respectful, non-judgmental, client-centred approach, her clients are empowered to become active participants in the treatment process. They learn the skills necessary to cope with difficult emotions and life experiences.
Tisha has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of adolescents and adults through her private practice and in her work with young offenders through the Ministry of Children and Family Development. She supports clients with challenges related to:
- Serious mental illness (i.e. schizophrenia, bipolar disorder)
- Work/life balance
- Trauma and abuse
- Relationship issues
- Parent-teen conflict
Tisha has a particular interest in women’s health including working with clients who have struggled with infertility and also with those who have experienced intimate partner violence, childhood sexual abuse or sexual assault. In addition, Tisha has a strength connecting with youth; helping young adults and their families adjust to the transition from adolescence to adulthood.
Tisha has specialized training and experience in the treatment of serious mental illness and forensic psychology. Approaches used include cognitive-behavioural, systemic, brief and solution-focused therapies.
Her office is located in the Kitsilano area. It is easily accessible by transit, with free street parking nearby.
