Dr. Tim Clark is a Registered Psychologist with offices in Langley, North Vancouver and New Westminster. He received his Masters degree in counselling psychology from McGill University in 1980 and completed a Ph.D. in counselling psychology from the University of Alberta in 1985.
Dr. Clark maintains a number of areas of special interest in his current clinical practice. These include work with stepfamilies with emphasis on the relationships between parents and between parents and children. He also maintains an ongoing commitment in assisting distressed couples develop more effective patterns of communication and more secure attachment bonds. Dr. Clark has received advanced training in Emotional Focused Therapy for couples, which continues to shape his theoretical orientation in this area. Dr. Clark also maintains an interest in clinical issues of depression and anxiety particularly as it relates to the break down of primary relationships and isolation.
In addition to his clinical practice Dr. Clark has a special interest in corporate psychology. He continues to coach senior managers and executives in developing powerful leadership strategies and human resource management skills. He has been a guest lecturer at Simon Fraser University in the Executive MBA program and is on faculty with the McRae Institute of International Business Management. He has consulted with students and managers in South East Asia and Latin America as well as participating in a wide variety of consulting projects with major corporations in Alberta and British Columbia.
Dr. Clark continues to deepen and evolve his clinical and corporate practice. He is currently exploring how concepts of mindfulness and meditation can be applied in modern psychology.
