Tiffany Brown, MA, CCC is honoured to provide trauma-informed counselling with folks who've experienced or been affected by any form of intimate partner violence or interpersonal violence in their lifetime through LIA (Love In Action) Counselling and Consulting in Burnaby, BC.
Tiffany comes together with folks to support transforming trauma, healing, and empowerment as they navigate moving towards their preferred horizons.
Tiffany works with folks who’ve experienced or have been affected by intimate partner violence or interpersonal violence in their lifetime including:
-any form of intimate partner violence
-any form of gender-based violence
-exposure to intimate partner violence
-a loved one who has experienced intimate partner violence or interpersonal violence
-interpersonal trauma connected with colonial violence including residential schools, Sixties Scoop, and MMIWG
-experiences of or exposure to interpersonal violence in their lifetime that impacts relationship with oneself, with loved ones, and well-being
-challenges such as negative body image, low self-esteem, or anxiety influenced by intimate partner violence or interpersonal violence
Tiffany provides trauma-informed counselling that reflects an intersectional lens. Tiffany is committed to providing a safe, respectful healing space to support folks as they navigate their journeys towards their preferred horizons.
Tiffany combines her natural warmth and caring with evidence-based treatment to support clients as they take steps toward safety, healing, and empowerment.
The therapeutic process is client-centered and collaborative, and Tiffany uses a blend of therapeutic modalities to reflect each client’s needs, experiences, and interests. Some of the approaches used may include: feminist, narrative, strengths-based, mindfulness, self-compassion, somatic, CBT, and response-based practice.
Training and Experience
Tiffany has a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the City University of Seattle and a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from the University of Victoria.
Tiffany is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Tiffany’s roots in anti-violence began at 18 when she volunteered with a women’s drop-in center. Tiffany’s passion for anti-violence and supporting healing, connection, and empowerment continued to grow as she completed her Bachelor of Social Work followed by her Master’s in Counselling Psychology. Today, Tiffany combines her training and experience to come together with clients and support them with navigating healing and moving towards their preferred horizons.
Multiple counselling options are available to help meet clients' diverse needs. Sessions are available in-person in Burnaby, secure video chat, and by phone.
