"If change and results are what you need then let's talk about it."
"I realize that making that call or writing that email is a big decision. What I hope when you meet with me is that you feel your are being listened to and your session is a great use of your time and money."
Shawn has had 31 years of experience working with families, youth and children. He worked 16 years in the school system with adolescents around conflict resolution techniques and stay in school initiatives. Shawn currently works with parents and their children around relationship building techniques. He has also owned and operated his private practice in South Surrey for 6 years.
Shawn speaks of those he sees in his private practice in this way, "I have tremendous respect for those who enter my door. It takes courage for people to face and talk about their personal changes.Whether it is anxiety, parenting or relationship issues, we all share unique experiences, thoughts and emotions that should be honoured."
Shawn has a background in child and youth development. He has completed Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 and has worked in group conferencing and mediation situations. Shawn is a father of three and has studied mid-life development through the eyes of a parent. Shawn concludes, " I have found through my practice that most people want to have positive, secure relationships with family members and partners. Often many get stuck in negative patterns that cause people to drift apart. My approach is about bringing people together in meaningful ways."
Shawn is also an approved counsellor with the ICBC and CVAP (Crime Victim Assistance), and First Nations Health Authority.
