Sandy brings warmth and genuine caring to her work with clients, as well as compassion, curiosity and respect. She is comfortable in building relationships with her clients that help them to gain greater confidence and agency in their lives. Sandy offers confidential, evidence-based, effective counselling to help clients experience greater self-worth, resilience, confidence and peace of mind. As well, Sandy runs two groups: one is a Therapy Book Club and the other is called Heal Your Childhood Trauma. Sandy is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with extensive experience working with adults, families, couples and youth (age 13+).
Sandy provides online clinical supervision and consultation to beginning, intermediate and seasoned counselling professionals. She is an Approved Clinical Supervisor with the BCACC and offers both individual and group supervision. Sandy also offers a workshop called "New Counsellor's Therapeutic Toolkit", with emphasis on practising experiential techniques.
Sandy views her role as that of co-inquirer into the larger perspective of what is going on for her clients. Through deep listening, she is alert to noticing learned patterns and coping methods that may not be serving them. Some of those patterns may have come from unaddressed trauma, shame, grief or loss. Sandy helps clients to process and reframe their limiting beliefs. She supports them with symptom management and recovering hope that their lives can improve. Clients feel heard and understood as they release stress, expand their self-knowledge and move towards their goals.
