Sometimes life seems hard, we feel distressed and our mental health or relationships can suffer as a result. I understand that overcoming these challenges can be overwhelming, so it is important to remember that you don't have to do it alone! I can offer you a safe space to experience tough emotions and gain insights, as well as the support and encouragement you need to learn, change and grow. I am currently available to see clients online, on the phone, or in person.
I approach counselling with empathy and warmth, a little bit of humour and a lot of compassion. I take time to consider each client's story or issue with the honour and respect it deserves. As a life-long learner, I am committed to continuing education and adding to my "tool belt" of techniques which compliment my clients growth and healing processes.
I am currently taking on new clients, including individuals, couples, and families. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. My approach is client-centred and I have experience and training in hypnotherapy, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioural techniques. I have a special interest in Emotionally Focused Therapy as well as the development of self-compassion, and how it relates to enhanced mental health, relationships, and personal growth. As a certified facilitator for the "Circle of Security" Parenting program, I have experience working with parents and caregivers, in both group and private settings, enriching their relationships with their children.
We all need help from time to time, and I believe that seeking extra support is actually "self-care". Please contact me to learn more about how counselling can help you to relate to yourself and others, re-learn ways of thinking, feeling and behaving and restore you to your best self as a whole.
