Are you feeling scared because of a new diagnosis or health concern (e.g. cancer, car accident, depression)? Is an illness taking over your life? Are you feeling alone? Hopeless? Are you having trouble engaging in the activities that you love? Are you having a hard time connecting with loved ones? Is it hard to stop the negative thoughts about yourself that run continuously through your head? Are you feeling exhausted all the time? Do you feel like no one understands you? Do you feel like you are having a hard time coping with life?
Through the counselling process, I can help you to feel heard, understood and to feel less alone and less afraid. We can work together to help you re-engage in meaningful activities and key relationships in your life. Together, we will explore your strengths and ways that you have been effectively coping. We will also discover other strategies and learn new skills to assist you with living the life that you want.
I provide individual and group therapy using a humanistic/person-centered lens and techniques that draw from Mindfulness-Based, Cognitive Behavioural, Emotionally-Focussed, Family Systems, and Trauma-Informed Therapies. I hold an MEd. Counselling Psychology (UBC). I am a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and the College of Occupational Therapists of BC.
