I have been registered with BCACC, as a registered clinical counsellor, for over 15 years. I provide individual counselling for a variety of issues and concerns including anxiety, mood issues, grief & loss, relationship issues, conflict with others, sports performance and sport anxiety, and all kinds of trauma. Modalities include EMDR therapy, CBT therapy, DBT therapy, Adlerian therapy, Art Therapy and more. Over the years I have assisted many supervisors, managers, trainers and coaches to get the best from their teams. I use my extensive training in personality theory to help you learn how to communicate with your team and increase their motivation and performance. I can assist you in managing complicated behavioral issues in your workplace or on your sports team.
I also provide consulting services for post-secondary institutions and other organizations. I am a trained Threat Assessment Specialist and have extensive experience creating behavioral management plans for employees/students/clients that are creating chaos in your organization or your life. In addition to individual consultations, I also teach workshops and conduct training for companies interested in improving their HR department's knowledge of Mental Health and Mental Well being in the workplace.
I graduated from Adler University in Chicago in 2004 with a MA in Counselling Psychology and began practicing as a clinical counsellor for Simon Fraser University. I spent 12 years working with university students of all ages struggling with various life issues.
I completed my PhD in 2016 and went to work for the University of British Columbia as a Mental Health expert in the Human Resources department. I provided the HR staff with expert advice and support on their most complex mental health cases.
In 2014 I started teaching classes at Adler University for the MA Counselling and MA Art Therapy program where I teach graduate students training to become counsellors.
I have always dreamed of having my own counselling practice and working with my own community, so in 2018 I opened Pinfield Counselling Coaching Consulting and began seeing clients. I am an Equestrian Therapist working with riders and coaches in the Lower Mainland on issues such as trauma from equestrian accidents and performance anxiety. I am also an EMDR therapist in Surrey.
I feel privileged to work with each and every person in my office. Everyone has a story to tell and a burden to bear. If I can provide some relief for them on their journey through life I am blessed.
