Are you worried about your child's behaviour? Are you struggling to cope with a traumatic or difficult experience from the past? Do you feel stuck in negative patterns in your relationship or other areas of your life? I have advanced training in trauma therapy with clients of all ages, as well as experience with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, anger management, and relationship issues. With children, in addition to trauma, I can help with ADHD, eating problems, bed-wetting, difficulties with friends, bullying, and tantrums. My approach in sessions is warm, supportive, and encouraging. I help my clients to safely work through bad experiences, to connect with their feelings, and to understand and change negative patterns in behaviours, emotions, and coping. I tailor interventions to each person's individual issues and needs, and I encourage clients to safely explore their experiences and strengths, working towards positive resolutions for their concerns. I use Observed and Experienced Integration, (OEI), sandplay and art therapy, emotion focused therapy for individuals (EFT) and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT). I have found that the combination of emotion-processing and practical coping techniques is particularly helpful for clients. Choosing a therapist can be a difficult decision, particularly if you have had bad experiences with people close to you. I am happy to answer any questions that you may have, so please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email.

Since happily changing my career course, I have worked at the Ministry of Children and Families, as well as training at Child and Youth Mental Health, and helping women and children who have experienced domestic violence. I accept Victim's Services and ICBC clients. Please call before the first session if you have coverage from either of these organizations. Please note that counsellors are not covered by the BC Medical Services Plan, but you may be able to access funding through your extended health plan, or claim sessions on your tax return.
