My name is Lauren Legere and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a private practice in Downtown Vancouver. I work with individuals in high pressure professions. Essentially I work with people who function in a high capacity, trying to balance their work demands with their personal lives. People who are often thought of as decision makers, those responsible for other people, those with aggressive sales targets or those who feel that they need support outside of their current working environment.
Some of the areas I can support you in include relationships, anxiety/panic attacks and professional burnout among others. I empower you to create healthy relationships with yourself and others while helping to give you the tools to help thrive in your fast-paced environments.
I have a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology and work from a holistic approach that encompasses mind, body and spirit. I believe that we are influenced by not only our psychology but also biologically and socially. These factors work together to create who we are and can sometimes reinforce habits that are holding us back from achieving our goals. Through our work together, we are able to collaboratively establish the missing tools in your toolkit to take control over the habits that may be holding you back from leading a more fulfilling life.
I know that asking for help can be difficult, especially when you are used to being the person people come to for advice, guidance and support. I believe that healing and change is possible and through active participation in the therapy process you can begin to improve your quality of life and reach your goals. Whether this is the first time you have thought about therapy or you are looking at returning, the therapy process can be quite beneficial.
As each individual has different strengths and needs, I believe that therapy should reflect that. I integrate different therapeutic approaches to create something that works for you. Some of the theories I draw from include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Mindfulness and Trauma-Informed practice among others. I approach therapy from a client-centered, strengths based approach where my role is to help facilitate and support you on your journey.
