My Approach to Treatment
My work with my clients begins with creating a trusting relationship where people can express themselves freely. I draw upon techniques from cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, and other therapies to help people achieve positive changes in their lives.
What You Can Expect
During your first session we will talk about what you would like to see change in your life, and how we might work together to make those changes happen. You are also welcome to ask me questions about the process. I strive to provide a warm and supportive environment where you can feel safe while exploring whatever is on your mind. Feedback is always welcome.
The number of sessions you need depends on many factors, but 3 - 10 sessions is typical for many of my clients. How often you book a session is entirely up to you, except I do not see clients more than once per week.
After finishing my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Victoria I worked in BC, Alberta, and Ontario. I have worked with many different types of clients, such as adults with chronic pain, depression, anxiety, workplace stress, family and relationship issues, and self-esteem issues. For the past two years a large part of my work has involved helping people who have experienced trauma and workplace issues. I also have a background in human resources and senior management in a large healthcare organization.
