Life can be hard. Something can happen that knocks us completely off-kilter. Sometimes the pain comes from deeper wounds and trauma that we have been carrying around for a very long time. No matter how capable and resilient we are, we all need extra support at some point.
I offer a variety of integrative therapy options tailored to each individual. Whether you are more comfortable in a traditional office environment, in the outdoors, or working alongside the horses, we can tailor an approach that best suits your needs and goals.
At the core of my practice is a relational, attachment-based, somatic approach to counselling. Somatic psychotherapy combines psychology, neurophysiology and the body's own wisdom to help process and heal trauma, stress, and early attachment injuries. I create a safe space to connect, where you can feel heard and cared for.
Psychotherapy can help you develop a stronger sense of self, increase your capacity to tolerate emotions, learn how to self-regulate, repair relational injuries, and process trauma. It is very important that we develop your resources first, before exploring trauma experiences, so that you do not become re-traumatized, and so that you feel in control of your therapeutic process. It is within this kind of therapeutic relationship that healing can take place.
