Practice information:
I'm Faiza Khalil (she/hers), a Registered Clinical Counsellor (19703) and Founder of Intrinsic Roots Therapy. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I have over 10 years of experience in multiple roles where I've supported clients with mental health concerns, trauma, addiction, intimate partner violence, poverty, and complex health conditions. From these experiences, I'm incredibly passionate about the importance in helping you reconnect to your core self and heal from the root cause of your issues.
Sometimes life can be hard and messy. I use a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and intersectional feminist lens to support others in these difficult moments. I value empowering people, specifically those from marginalized communities, and validating their truth throughout the counselling process.
I believe that people don’t have to wait until they are experiencing a major setback to start their healing process. We’re all works in progress and it’s okay to reach out for support any time! This may include moments when a person is feeling stuck or consumed by their thoughts. I aim to collaborate with clients in identifying effective coping strategies.
