In this time of social distancing, taking care of our mental health is more important than ever. When isolated, feelings of depression, anxiety, and hopelessness can quickly run rampant.
For some these feelings can be so destructive it is hard to get out of bed in the morning, but for others it can be more subtle. Noticing first that it has taken more energy to be present with your relationships and things you use to enjoy easily. Sleep begins to suffer, your work performance is declining, all while you hope you will snap out of it. Even if you are able to hide it around others, it comes at a cost of suffering alone and in silence.
My role as a counselor is to help you feel grounded and find insight into your psychological and emotional needs. From this insight discovered, we can effectively create approaches, strategies, and techniques tailored to you which will support you in reaching the goals that we will create together. I work with clients who have a variety of challenges in life. My specialty areas are helping people work through traumatic experiences, managing depression, relief from anxiety, and repairing and supporting relationships.
In our sessions you will learn skills to feel grounded, and gain an awareness of what may be going on beneath the surface. We will work together on ways in which you can effectively grow and find solutions to your own unique challenges. These solutions are not limited to self-improvement, but also new patterns of communication and relationship with others.
