In addition, Erin has completed training in Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) as well as EMDR, and is certified with EMDRIA (see emdria.org). She works with clients on single incident, as well as chronic and complex, trauma. In relation, she is registered with the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) to provide services to victims of crime. Erin has also completed Level I and II training by the BCPFFA and provides therapy to fire fighters and other first responders.
She has extensive experience working with well-established counselling and family services agencies, in addition to her 13 years of private practice work. Reflecting her passion for healthy individual and family development, Erin also offers various psychoeducational workshops and courses on an on-going basis. Committed to education and counsellor development, Erin has also served as Adjunct Faculty at Adler University's Master's of Counselling Psychology program, and offers clinical supervision and consultation to other therapists.
Erin works with clients toward their own insight, growth and development in areas such as anxiety, depression, grief & loss, life transitions, self-esteem, family conflict, trauma, life purpose and balance. In working with youth, adult, couples and family clients, Erin embraces the Adlerian concepts of valuing uniqueness of individuals, encouragement, and early life experiences, while believing what Alfred Adler said, Everything can also be different. Believing in people and families ability to make what they feel are positive changes for their lives, she uses an Adlerian approach as her psychotherapeutic foundation, which offers a holistic consideration of life in valuing the work, social, intimacy, self and spiritual aspects of our being human. She also includes various other therapeutic modalities, based on individual client needs.
