My approach is integrative in which I design counselling approaches according to your needs, setting goals with you and honoring your journey.
Raven Work-Health and Vocational Consulting (www.ravenworkhealthconsulting.com) focuses on career development, vocational assessments including medical-legal assessments, and workplace issues such as stress management, including anxiety and depression, work conflicts, bullying and harassment, professional burnout and work/life balance.
My approach is an integrative one that is individually developed to suit you as a client. I use both traditional therapeutic approaches as well as mindfulness-based stress reduction, solution-focused and brief therapies. I create a safe and supportive environment where you can deal with work and vocational issues and overcome life challenges. I believe that change is challenging and working with you will help you transition to a more suitable place where you also locate your own answers. When clients are empowered they become "directors" of their lives. The techniques I use accelerate change making therapy more affordable and quicker so you can get on with your life.
In choosing me as your therapist you will have a therapist who is experienced, compassionate and versatile. Also most extended health plans cover my services as a clinical counsellor.
I completed my Doctor of Clinical Psychology in 2013 at California Southern University. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (#9911) and Masters Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP #348). My Masters'of Arts degree is from the Adler School of Professional Psychology Vancouver and Chicago and I have a BA in Communications from SFU. In addition, I have training in Intergenerational family therapy, Narrative therapy, addictions counselling, and brief therapies. My varied background includes 30 years of counselling experience in private practice, the addictions field with families and youth, employment and vocational rehabilitation consulting, training in the field, and family life education administration.
Currently I am in private practice and an external provider for WorkSafe BC Mental Health Treatment Services and for Vocational Rehabilitation Services conducting vocational assessments. I also participated as a psychology intern in the Interdisciplinary Pain Management Program at Lifemark (Centric Health) in Vancouver where I worked with clients experiencing personal injury, PTSD, and Chronic pain.
