My areas of interest are:
I believe in our capacity as human beings to construct lives that are satisfying, happy and well connected to the people we care about. We have a right to be safe and to receive protection and support from our community. Most importantly we have the right to take our lives in the directions that are meaningful to us. I am trained in techniques that are effective in bringing clarity and momentum to your journey. The techniques I use in include Family Systems, Cognitive-Behavioural and Narrative therapies.
These techniques give me a range of tools I can bring to the table; the most important tools come from your own deepest wishes, experiences and wisdom. I don’t believe that people need to be in therapy as a lifestyle. Therapy with me will be a project focussed on helping you feel a satisfying sense of movement towards the things you want in your life as quickly as possible. You won’t be defined as “dysfunctional” or be exposed to expectations that don’t make sense to you.
I am a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and subscribe to a professional set of standards and ethics.
I have a Master of Science degree in Family Therapy from the AAMFT-approved program at Seattle Pacific University. I have worked with children and families for forty years in Alberta, Washington and British Columbia. I consider myself so fortunate in having been exposed to the wisdom of clients, elders and experts not to mention my own wonderful wife and two well-grown sons. I look forward to every new person I meet and I look forward to being useful and supportive in your life.
