Tired of repeating the same hurtful patterns in your life? Does anxiety, depression, dissociation, low self-worth, or fear feel like a constant battle for you? Maybe you feel stuck, confused and alone. My name is Chelsie Pilon and I am Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Masters in Counselling Psychology. I offer trauma-informed counselling for all ages and genders. I am currently offering secure, virtual counselling at this time, which allows me to see clients from all across Canada.
When meeting with clients, my top priority is to make sure they feel safe and supported. I believe that connection and safety create the foundation for healing and growth. I meet my clients right where they are, empowering them to take control of their therapeutic journey, and supporting them to make positive changes in their lives. I take a trauma-informed and attachment-based approach to counselling. I understand that the root cause of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger, and maladaptive behaviors often stem from histories of trauma. I also draw on emotion-focused and body-centered therapy to help my clients process their emotions on a deeper level. I believes that the body holds a lot of wisdom, and by connecting with it we can develop a deeper sense of knowing, regain our personal power, and feel grounded and more confident in ourselves.
I see clients through the BC Borstal Association, which is a non-profit, charitable organization that has been investing in community safety from a trauma-informed lens since 1948. We understand that trauma has a significant impact and the opportunity for prevention, intervention, and aftercare are imperative to support both individual and community wellness.
The BC Borstal Association understands that adverse life experiences can be traumatic, but such experiences do not need to derail one's natural development, or place individuals or the community at risk. Trauma is closely linked with mental health, addiction, stigma, negative and criminal behaviors, as well as many other challenges. We deliver a unique approach to root cause treatment: Prevention through education and training; Early Intervention when one faces abnormal challenges; and Aftercare for those who require skilled support to manage the impacts of these life experiences. We offer a client-centered approach, informed principles of: collaboration, transparency, empowerment, hope, respect, compassion, integrity, trust and care.
I am currently an approved counsellor through:
ICBC
CVAP (Crime Victim Assistance Program)
FNHA (First Nations Health Authority)
RHAP (Residential Historical Abuse Program)
