Tired of repeating the same hurtful patterns in your life? Does anxiety and/or depression feel like a constant battle for you? Maybe you feel stuck, confused and alone. My name is Chelsie Pilon and I am Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Masters in Counselling Psychology. I offer individual counselling for all ages and genders. I am also offering secure, virtual counselling at this time, which allows me to see clients from all across BC.
When meeting with clients my top priority is to make sure they feel safe and supported. I have a warm and genuine approach to counseling, and I will meet you right where you are. Together we will face your challenges, make sense of your thought processes, and explore your emotions on a deeper level. Through this discovery process, I will work with you to identify patterns in your life that are keeping you stuck. You are the expert in your own life, and I truly believe that we all know more about what’s holding us back than we think we do. I will help you access this inner wisdom so you can move forward in your life.

I am so glad you are here. It can be intimidating and overwhelming when looking for the right counsellor for you. I offer free consultations so that we get a chance to speak in person and get to know each other a little bit before we begin our first session. I always want to make sure my clients feel comfortable and safe as I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in making therapy as successful as it can be.
My experience as a counsellor includes working with youth and young adults struggling with mental health issues surrounding anxiety, depression and trauma. I have specific training in crisis intervention, which means I work with individuals experiencing varying levels of distress. I have had the privilege of helping many people restore their ability to cope during crisis situations. I also specialize in tailoring counselling for Highly Sensitive People (HSP) who experience the world a little but differently. I have a track record of helping many HSPs embrace and thrive with their trait of sensitivity.
My approach to counselling
I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities and tailor my approach to each client’s needs. I believe in techniques that are backed by science so you can start to feel better as quickly as possible.
I use a Person-Centered approach to counselling which works off of the assumption that people are innately resourceful, and are capable of leading themselves towards their own growth and health. My role is to make you feel supported, and understood while you guide your therapeutic journey.
I also draw on Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MCBT). This approach brings awareness to the negative thinking patterns that lead to depressive and anxious spirals, and examines the way we habitually react to situations, so we can choose to respond in more skillful ways. Through MCBT, I will help you better understand and manage your thoughts and emotions in order to achieve relief from feelings of distress, like anxiety or depression.
I integrate Emotion Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) for clients who are struggling particularly with the relationships in their lives. This means I work with you to identify and change negative interaction patterns that have emerged in your important relationships. I support you to understand emotions and perceptions that fuel the negative cycle so you can bring about positive and lasting change in the way you experience your relationships.
Finally, I draw upon a body-centered approach to therapy to help client’s access their emotions on a deeper level. By giving the body a “voice” we can often gain a deeper understanding of our thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Our bodies hold a lot of knowledge, and by connecting with them we can develop a deeper sense of knowing, reduce anxiety and depression, and feel grounded and more confident in ourselves.
