My practice includes clients from all walks of life, and I am privileged to learn from and with people as they grow and change. My approach is eclectic and evolving, although I rely on some traditional standbys including cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT).
The majority of my clients begin therapy with some degree of depression, anxiety, or life/work stress. Some resolve their problems within a session or two, whereas others benefit from ongoing support. One of the things I am constantly re-assessing with people is whether we are working on active change, or whether the client needs support in simply coping with her/his situation.
About half of my clients are experiencing difficulties in relationships with spouses or other family members, and where appropriate these other individuals are welcomed to sessions. Marital therapy is one of the areas in which I maintain ongoing education, as the field is evolving rapidly.
A good fit between client and therapist is essential for success, so I am happy to spend some time on the phone or over email to answer questions prior to booking a session.
