Carly is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) as well as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and she holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Emphasizing a counselling approach that integrates the concepts of cognitive-behavioral, emotion-focused, and solution-focused therapies, Carly helps individuals achieve personal growth and therapeutic change regarding a number of issues: trauma and abuse, PTSD, grief and loss, depression, anxiety and panic, self-esteem, life transitions, relationship and family concerns, stress, anger and workplace issues.
Carly dedicates herself to supporting individuals who are working through grief and loss and has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which assists in the resolution of traumatic experiences. Extensive background includes counselling adult survivors of abuse and working with adults across a range of issues in Employee Assistance Programs and university settings. She is also a grief support group facilitator and women’s support group facilitator.
Carly has an empathetic, warm manner and believes in fostering a non-judgemental atmosphere to help clients explore concerns and issues. She is an active member of the community and volunteers her time counselling adults and facilitating groups. Carly is currently in private practice at Fairview Counselling located at West 8th Avenue and Hemlock Street, Vancouver.
