Britta West provides you and your loved ones with exceptional care in a compassionate and friendly atmosphere. With fifteen years of experience in the field, she has provided behavioural and mental health treatment to people facing all types of challenges. Her services focus on the support of children, youth and families who are in crisis, are having relationship challenges, are struggling to find connection and wellness and are concerned for their loved ones. Britta has a wealth of experience with trauma, stressors, mental health diagnoses and couples, family and parent-child relationships.
Whether you have experienced trauma or abuse, received a mental health diagnosis, are struggling with your children or larger family, have been told you can't be assisted by other professionals, are in addiction, are having relationship issues, are in crisis or have no where to turn for help, she can assist you. Britta provides family, couples and individual therapy and has a wealth of experience supporting families, parents and children from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
In addition to client treatment, she also offers educational and clinical supervision services to students and professionals in the sector who are looking to improve their practice and support the strength of our communities.
Britta completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology in 2009 as a natural development from working with children and youth in community-based agencies. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC (British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors) and a Clinical Supervisor supporting other RCCs and paraprofessionals in the fields of behavioural and mental health. She is also a Clinical Traumatologist focusing on the treatment of trauma, and Director and President-Elect on the Board of the BCACC.
