By addressing troubling thoughts and feelings, self-sabotaging behaviors, and traumas, life can become more manageable, productive, and fulfilling.
I focus on who you are as an individual, and how you have adapted to and been shaped by your life and experiences. Counselling is a space where you can explore yourself, your preferences, and plans of action in order to create a life where your individuality can flourish. I am committed to helping you overcome adversities, heal from old wounds, and resolve outdated patterns so that you can grow into yourself with greater skill, choice, and intention. More importantly, I am here to help you get to where you want to go.
Problems of living, psychological symptoms, and the best ways to address them are unique to each individual. We’ll collaborate to discover what works best for you. I’m an expert at grounding a variety of therapeutic perspectives within the context of your life. My background with diverse counselling approaches, clinical contexts, and as a scholar of psychotherapy helps me to take an approach that’s tailored to you. I like learning new tools and working from different perspectives, but what to do and where to go emerge from our work together. Our relationship and the intention we bring to it does much of the healing work. Letting me into your world is a gift. To do it justice, I prepare myself to go on an odyssey with you. Sometimes, an adventure into the unknown is what it takes.
I believe shared humor and relational connection are key to effective therapy. My goal is to tap into your strengths and provide a space where all aspects of yourself feel welcome. I’ll meet you where you are with a grounded approach adapted to your needs. Together, and hopefully with a few laughs, we’ll take on what’s troubling you.
Counselling often leads to the discover that our everyday stressors, dilemmas, and relational conflicts are part of larger patterns waiting to be resolved as a whole. We’ll spend time talking about your everyday stressors and develop strategies to address them along with your immediate priorities, but we’ll also look at ongoing issues, possible underlying factors, and find ways to address these too. By contemplating your past, present, and future, we'll get you on track to where you want to go.
Due to a full schedule, I use a waitlist and provide a monthly check-in for those who are on it. At the beginning of each month, I reach out via email to provide an update on my availability and schedule initial consultations.
