I have been working professionally with individuals, couples and families for the past 15 years in the areas of conflict resolution, emotional regulation, mindfulness and healthy attachment. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and received my MA from the University of British Columbia in 2001.
Whether it is anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, addiction, or work stress, I will focus on developing a personalized plan for each client. Often clients who come to counselling ask themselves "How did I get here?" and "Why do I feel so bad?". I will help you to assess what are the presenting obstacles and what may be potential solutions to get you to where you want to be. Working collaboratively, I will help you towards positive outcomes by facilitating healthy and, most importantly, lasting change.
One of my primary areas of work has been helping clients to re-create healthier and more fulfilling relationships with a loved one or family member. Practicing from a strength based perspective, I aim to support and challenge you to reach a higher level of awareness and deeper understanding of yourself and your relationship with those who are important to you.
I have worked in private practice, community settings, and EAP (Employment Assistant Programs), as a clinician, supervisor and facilitator.
I offer an initial 15 minute phone consultation to discuss how counselling may be beneficial for you and how your personal goals can be achieved.
