The approach has been developed by Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt and is supported by the work of many psychologists.  The insights have been adapted into dialogue-based exercises. Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) deals with depressive symptoms and issues. This short term treatment of up to 20 weeks deals with the client's main symptoms during the initial sessions.
