Paula Jurczak is a Registered Clinical Counselor, Registered Social Worker, DIR Clinician and Expert Training Leader and Self-Regulation Consultant in BC. Paula has over 20 years of experience providing counseling and social work services to individuals, children, adolescents and families. She specializes in assessment and support of infants, children and adolescents experiencing complex challenges. She maintains a private practice using DIR and Self-Regulation models to support individuals experiencing attachment and regulatory challenges, complex mental health issues, learning difficulties, giftedness, social and sensory challenges, specialized medical conditions and neurodivergent challenges.
Paula uses a strength-based, family-centred multidisciplinary approach in her practice, and her work is informed by current research and evidence-based strategies. Paula works with her clients to find effective therapeutic methods that best suit the needs of the person and emphasizes respect and compassion for her clients. She creates a safe and caring environment that supports and promotes understanding, acceptance and the healthy development of children and families.
Additionally, Paula provides clinical supervision to organizations and counselors seeking to enrich their own practices. As the Dean of eLearning for The Mehrit Centre, she works collaboratively to support self-regulation in schools, organizations, health and social service agencies across Canada. Paula also presents internationally and provides psychoeducational workshops, reflective parent coaching, online support services and support groups and consultation to hospitals, mental health clinics, preschools, and schools.

Inclusive Needs Services:
DIR Floortime Therapy an evidence based model to help children and families with neurodivergent challenges build healthy foundations for social, emotional and intellectual capacities. Therapy follows the child's natural emotions and interests, engaging in exploratory/thematic interactions to promote regulation, relating, communicating and thinking at successively higher levels of complexity.
Services Include: Developmental evaluations; Therapy sessions; Parent/interventionist coaching; Parent consultation; Team coordination.
Counseling Services:
Play Therapy an effective way to help a child understand and express feelings, develop healthy problem solving skills, heal from trauma, support emotional regulation, develop social skills and increase self-esteem.
Self-Regulation Therapy to understand and recognize stress and manage energy states across the 5 interrelated developmental domains (biological, emotion, cognitive, social, prosocial). To use the 5 Step method of Self-Reg to reframe challenges, reduce stress, enhance learning, promote growth and social and physical well-being.
Family Therapy working with families together to strengthen relationships, help family members understand, accept and support each other and cope with change in a healthy way.
