As a Registered Clinical Counsellor Misha has enjoyed the privilege of helping people over the last 25 years.
He is known to provide compassionate, attentive and spacious presence to help you heal and find meaning, joy and harmony in your life.
Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issue, addiction, trauma or a spiritual concern, Misha will not only help you better understand and heal your unique problem, he will help you recognize and develop inner strength you already have.
In his private counselling practice in Victoria, Misha integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches and is able to offer one that may best suite your needs.
For example, he may invite you to become mindful of your thoughts, feelings or body sensations in the moment, explore your past and present relationships, use educational approach and share his own experience with you when appropriate. Whatever the approach, Misha strives to not be overly reliant on techniques, but rather on his ability to be genuinely and creatively present moment by moment.
In his counselling practice in Victoria, Misha works not only with individual clients, but also with couples in groups. As Misha's clients work through their issues in individual sessions, they at some point may become interested in deepening and expending their work in couple sessions as well as in small group sessions. Alternatively, some clients may feel that their healing needs to start in couple or group sessions, and only later they may choose to work on a specific issue in private sessions.
As well as counselor and psychotherapist, Misha is yoga and meditation practitioner and teacher, and his calling is to bring mindfulness and Eastern spiritual approaches to self development to his counselling and psychotherapy practice.
Misha holds Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology (Toronto and Chicago). He has extensive experience working for Health Institutions, Community Agencies and in private practice in Toronto and Victoria (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Women's College Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, Hospice Toronto).
In addition to his counselling practice in Victoria, Misha also teaches meditation and yoga, dabbles in painting and photography, and explores vegetarian cooking.
