Do you feel stressed, overwhelmed, or down? Do you yearn to feel better and live more fully, but something is holding you back?
If so, you may find that my approach and skills are a good fit for you. I’m Jen, and I work with people who are looking to fulfill their potential and get past the things that have been holding them back. My aim is to help you to experience more joy and move towards living the life you want to live. I see clients at an office on the North Shore.
Participating in counselling often helps to develop a calm mind and a sense of wellbeing. It may help you to become more self-confident, learn to manage stress more skillfully, and heal from difficult experiences.
I focus on treating stress, worry, and anxiety; self-confidence/self-esteem issues; caregiver overwhelm or burnout; and difficulties managing strong/overwhelming emotions. I offer both short and longer-term support, and work in collaboration with you, the client, to develop a treatment plan based on your goals.
I use approaches that respect the mind-body connection, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I find that these approaches get to the root cause of health and wellbeing issues, rather than simply treating symptoms. I welcome any questions about my counselling services.
I have had the honour of working in diverse communities and areas of counselling, including a women’s shelter, a community mental health clinic in Iqaluit, Nunavut, and most recently with the Canadian Cancer Society. I have been inspired to see our capacity as people to find wellness even amidst pain. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy practicing yoga and spending time with my spouse and son.
I welcome any questions about my counselling services. For more information or to book an appointment, call 604-929-5772 or email me using the online form above.
