With over 20 years of experience providing therapy to couples and to individuals of all ages, including children, teens, and adults, Heidi has an intuitive and sensitive counselling style that ensures most people immediately feel comfortable in her presence. Heidi is deeply empathic and has the ability to connect with adults and youth alike.
Heidi provides insightful feedback and teaches effective strategies to help her clients deal with the circumstances and situations that are interfering with their lives.
She has specialized training in EMDR for the treatment of trauma, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) to help symptoms of anxiety and depression, and the Bader-Pearson Developmental approach to couples counselling, which has proven to be a successful process for couples wanting to restore, and grow within, their relationships.
Heidi is non-judgemental in her approach and works with clients in a person-centred way, following and guiding rather than directing them. She has worked successfully with children in crisis or those exhibiting behaviour problems; youth who need a safe adult to help them navigate the challenges of adolescence; adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, or self-esteem concerns; individuals of all ages who are living with loss; youth and adults working through significant life transitions; and couples trying to reclaim their relationships from conflict and cut-off.
Individuals with concerns other than those listed are also welcome to contact Heidi, as her range of exeprience is broad and meeets the needs of most people seeking therapy.
Heidi has an M.A. from UBC and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
