Eileen is a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW), and a member of the BC College of Social Workers. She is also a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).
Eileen says: "I have tremendous respect for the individuals and couples who make the decision to seek professional counselling or coaching. I know that no one ever arrives at that decision, lightly. Inviting a third party to discuss the parts of your private life you tend to keep the most private can make even the most confident person feel vulnerable and uncomfortable. You wouldn't do it unless the way things are now makes you feel even more uncomfortable and even a little desperate. I've been there, too, and I get it."
Eileen views everyone coming into her office as resilient, intelligent and fully capable of managing their own lives. She starts from the premise that the client is seeking new information or a different perspective on the issue they face. She partners with her clients, matching the expertise they bring to the table about their own lives with her own expertise in human behaviour.
She has specialized training in supporting working professionals and families living with issues of substance abuse, eating disorders, depression and anxiety. She also works extensively with couples seeking to enhance and work through the issues that can surface in relationships.
Eileen is trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing, among others.
