Dr. Catherine Currell is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (#2086) and has a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Central Michigan University. She has offices conveniently located in both Gastown Vancouver and downtown New Wesminster.
Dr. Currell primarily works with adults in individual therapy who are struggling with a wide range of problems including:
Dr. Currell also conducts psychological assessment for forensic risk, ADHD, learning disability, and cognitive/intelligence testing.
Dr. Currell is trained in a variety of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Humanistic/Client-Centered, Solution-Focused and Psychodynamic. Depending on a particular client’s needs, she will select one of the above theoretical orientations or use a combination of these orientations in order to best help the client.
Dr. Currell approaches all her clients with a caring and non-judgemental attitude and she can appreciate that making that first step to reach out for help can be difficult. She prides herself on providing a friendly and warm atmosphere for all her clients in order to facilitate and maintain her client’s comfort level as they make their way through the therapy process together.
