Bachelor of Social Work, (University of Victoria), Master of Social Work, (University of British Columbia)
Depth of experience, skills and training in personal counselling and group facilitation
Main areas of focus; anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, trauma and relationship issues
Counselling can provide a safe, confidential, objective experience for individuals to be heard and explore personal issues in depth. I use an interpersonal approach, solution-focused therapy, narrative and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in my methods. I believe there is interconnection with physical, social, emotional and spiritual facets of a persons’ life and my role is to help guide individuals to discover ways to adjust to loss, gain awareness of patterns of behaviour that are causing distress and create strategies for decision making and change.
I welcome an initial phone conversation or email to discuss concerns and the possibility of the development of a therapeutic relationship. *Weekend appointments are available.
