Anita is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#2262) with experience working with families, couples and individuals. Anita has worked as a therapist and group facilitator for over fifteen years dealing with such diverse issues as relationship distress, depression and anxiety, parent-teen conflict, self- development and life transitions.
Anita believes that people often get stuck in patterns of repetitive behaviours or thinking that can keep them from moving forward or past painful experiences. The therapeutic setting provides a safe and confidential place to explore concerns and attain a better understanding of one self. In a collaborative way the therapist can help one move towards awareness, resolution or acceptance which can lead to growth and better emotional health.
Proficient in both practical, solution focused approaches as well as insight oriented, and experiential therapies Anita is able to work with a clients specific and diverse needs. Anita is also trained in EMDR, an integrative psychotherapy approach, that she has used effectively in the treatment of trauma and other mental health problems.
