Do you feel dissatisfied or discontented with life?
Is your relationship the source of pain and isolation?
Do you constantly push people away that love you?
Many people work hard to appear happy on the outside, and tire of the empty, alone feelings they carry. I believe that you were made for connection and community in more ways than you may realize, and I know it can be built. In therapy sessions with me, once concerns are shared you know you are not alone and you no longer carry the burden by yourself. I work with individuals and couples who are seeking more fulfillment from life. My desire is that you become more fully who you are, and enjoy the life you have built.
I have worked as a therapist since 2007, after completing a Master's degree in counselling from ACTS of Trinity Western University. My training and experience in private and public settings makes me uniquely skilled at working with individuals, couples and youth to repair the damage of loneliness, disconnection and sadness.
Areas that I work with include:
- Depression, Anxiety and Panic
- Couples
- Parenting
- Family
- Self-esteem and personal growth
- Relationship challenges
- Premarital counselling and relationship enrichment
- Transition and Adjustment
- Grief and loss
I believe that counselling must be client-centered, relying on collaboration between the therapist and client. My most common approaches for adults and adolescents are Emotion-focused and Satir, with integration of Cognitive, Behavioral and Family Systems approaches as appropriate. In my work with couples, I primarily use Emotion-Focused Therapy.
