Welcome. My name is Aiden and I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a focus on treating anxiety/panic and mood issues related to relationships, chronic stress, and trauma. I hold a Master's in Counselling Psychology from Adler University, a BA in Psychology from University of Alberta, and post-graduate training in psychological assessment from Concordia University of Edmonton. I am also a full member of the Canadian Psychological Association.
Although my primary focus is anxiety/panic, stress, and mood disorders, in my time as a counsellor and psychotherapist I have had the privilege of helping clients deal with a variety of issues including trauma/PTSD, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, and physical/sexual/emotional abuse.
I draw on various evidence-based therapeutic perspectives in my work including Adlerian Therapy, Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I strongly believe in tailoring the therapeutic approach to each unique individual, and working in a collaborative manner with the client to resolve difficulties and promote healing.
As someone who has successfully overcome generalized and social anxiety myself, I deeply understand the hardship of living with chronic stress and depression. This has helped me to work with clients from a genuine place of empathy, warmth, and kindness, as I am able to relate to being in the role of the client.
Finally, I am also a fully certified Alpha-Stim CES practitioner. The Alpha-Stim AID is a small medical device that is FDA and Health Canada approved, and I use it with some of my clients as an augment to psychotherapy to relieve anxiety, depression, and insomnia. To learn more about the Alpha-Stim device and how you may want to incorporate it into your therapy sessions, please visit my website.
I look forward to meeting you.
