Judith's formal education includes a MSW from Wilfrid Laurier University with an emphasis on Individuals, Families and Groups. She is registered with the B.C. College of Social Workers (#9451). She has undergraduate and graduate degrees with an emphasis on Drama in Education. Judith has done extensive training focusing on parenting "spirited" children and developing resiliency in children and teens. She has completed Satir Systemic Brief Therapy, Levels I and II and some Level III Application courses. 

Judith's professional memberships include: Satir Institute of the Pacific, BC Association of Social Workers,  and the Canadian Association for Play Therapy.

For more than 25 years, Judith has worked with and/or for children, teens, young adults and families in the contexts of recreation, government, education and therapy. Most of her work has focused on children, teens and families coping with multiple stressors. Often, Judith uses her background in Improvisational Drama and other Creative Therapies, particularly using play, storytelling and storymaking, in her therapeutic work with youth up to 12 years of age.

Judith has education and training in bereavement and difficult/complicated grief. She is skilled in helping children, adolescents and adults work through their journeys through grief to a place of peace and hope.

Judith's approach to counselling is anchored on hope and defined by positively directed goals moving towards growth and possibilities.  As a counsellor, she works collaboratively and respectfully with clients to reach their goals.

Judith's counselling focuses on depression, anxiety/panic, loss/grief/bereavement, life transitions, parenting challenges that often affect children, teens, and families.

Judith's professional standards for herself are high, and she meets them by committing to continued professional training and supervision by an Approved Marriage and Family Supervisor.
